It is now common to hear that exposure to LED lights can be harmful for the body and can affect us on a cellular level. When I started to go in-depth into health & the biochemistry of the body I paid little attention to the effects of artificial lights. However, the more I learn about what health is, the more of my time I devote to learning about the effect light has on the way the body works & how an unnatural light spectrum can be damaging.
For me, I always like to understand the mechanism behind claims like this otherwise, the statement doesn’t mean much to me. I want to lay out the known mechanisms of how artificial light can be so harmful to us in order to hopefully help anyone who also wants to understand this mechanism, but doesn’t want to comb through dozens of research papers to piece it together themselves.
